2. Green is In: the green movement is in and greed is out. Again the fiasco of AIG, Bear Sterns, GM, Freddie Mac, plays a big part in the new green movement. This will allow more social businesses to flourish.
3. Money to Do Good: the money that was lost could have been used to do good. People will put more investments into companies that are aligned with their values…. like protecting the environment.
4. Friends Become Stock Experts: we will value the opinion of our friends and family more than our stock-brokers. This will create a thriving network of informal investment networks.
5. Rise of Alternative Networks: the Green Stock Exchange, North America’s first ethical stock exchange to re-shape the market ia one example of an alternative network.
6. More Stay at Home Businesses: due to the technology and Internet revolution, there will be more and more people starting home businesses. It is now feasible to run an entire business from home via virtual offices.
7. Music Becomes Long Tail: the music industry is being reshaped by music downloads. It will allow smaller artists to make a better living, while larger artists to make less money, unless the traditional artists with big record contracts embraces download technology. Also, artists will have to tour more to make their money.
8. Need to Splurge: once we come out of the recession in 2010, some people will start to spend like crazy again. It is like not having sex for 1 year…
9. Escape to Dream World: as the recession sets in people will need to escape to another world. Hits during the recession will be funny movies, action movies, upbeat music, video games, reality TV show contests, romance novels, sex videos, and anything of fantasy.
10. Family Focus: this is the end of the era of the latch key child. Parents will become more kids oriented and give the best to their kids. Kids will become more spoiled as families become smaller. The best business is family business, such as family movies, games, big screen televisions …etc
