David believes that some problems are so massive like climate change, poverty, extinction ...etc.,
that it will take the collective will of mankind to resolve. David's solution is the Human Internet Project.

Join the Human Internet Project!
Human Internet Project
The Human Internet Project solution:
originally when the Internet was first conceived, it was to connect researchers across continents. Researchers understand that two heads are better than one. The Human Internet Project is based on that belief.
We will connect 300 million people, organizations and computers together in a collaborative effort to save planet earth and humanity. Only by working together can we ensure a better life for our children and our children's children.
The Human Internet Project will educate people about the problems, fund solutions,
take action to solve the problems, and reward people for doing good.
The Components of the Human Internet Project:
David plans to use art, music and events as a unifying force to create the "Global Village".
The Human Internet Project is composed of many inter-connected components, which will bring about massive environmental and social change:
| 1. |
To build the "Global Village", David conceived the world's largest open source “world citizens gathering”, call the EARTHSHIP Summit, which will run concurrently with the G8 World Leaders Meeting in Toronto, Canada in July 2010.
Organized
with the Arite Kornfeld the oroginal organizer for Woodstock 1969,
David hopes to bring 1,000,000 people to the event, and to broadcast it to another 300 million people worldwide (TV, radio, webcast).
The EARTHSHIP Summit will create a "SPARK" for massive environmental and social change. This is done by taking action, forming alliances and sharing ideas to make the world a better place. The event includes conferences, exhibitions, festivals, awards, sustainability competitions and more.
The G8 World Leaders Meeting is a meeting of the world's richest nations (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the UK and the US), representing 14% of the world's population, and 65% of the world economy. The combined G8 military spending was US$850 billion, representing 72% of the world's total military expenditures and accounting for 96-99% of the world's nuclear weapons.
The EARTHSHIP Summit is a people's meeting of the world's poorest nations, non-profit organizations, green citizens and concern citizens of the world.
The EARTHSHIP Summit also includes a huge 2 day concert like Woodstock '69, called "Imagine". |
| |
|
| 2. |
IMAGINE is a 2-day charity music and arts festival that is part of the EARTHSHIP Summit.
Since music is a universal language that unites people, artist David Kam has joined forces with Artie Kornfeld, the father of Woodstock (organizer of Woodstock '69) to mount IMAGINE, a 2-day charity music and arts festival.
IMAGINE is inspired by John Lennon’s song Imagine and infused with the spirit of Woodstock ’69 (and LIVE8), to create a “SPARK” for massive environmental and social change.
We want to invite to IMAGINE about 50 of the world’s greatest rock bands, in spirit of Woodstock ’69. The theme is “2 Days of Love and Music to Change the World”.

The A200 is short for "Assembly of 200 Non-G8 Nations", which is part of the EARTHSHIP Summit.
The brainchild of Artist David Kam, the A200 ("is a meeting of the world's 200 poorest nations"), to run concurrently with the G8 World Leaders Meeting, which is happening at the same. This first assembly will focus on the continent of Africa.
The G8 is a meeting of the world's richest nations, representing 14% of the world's population, and 65% of the world economy. The combined G8 military spending was US$850 billion, representing 72% of the world's total military expenditures and accounting for 96-99% of the world's nuclear weapons.
The A200 will represent 86% of the world population ("the world's poorest people"). We will also invite to the assembly non-profit organizations, green businesses, and concerned citizens of the world.
This worldwide grassroots citizens driven happening will open up a dialog with the G8 World Leaders and produce a summary report of all the world's concerns for submission to the G8 World Leaders. |

About Artist David Kam

David Kam
Polar Bear Extinction
Acrylic on Oil on Canvas
In 2001 artist David Kam produced the world's first painting about climate change, almost 7 years before Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth film, called Polar Bear Extinction; shown above is his Extinction Style ("the main subject is left blank on canvas"). |
Artist David Kam is the founder of the Thinkism Art Movement, the first fine art movement of the 21st century ("known as the socially conscious art movement"). Founded on September 12, 2001, the day after 911, the Thinkism Art Movement produces socially conscious art relevant to the 21st century. Some
people view Thinkism as “protest art”, but it is more than that. We are living on the brink of a world metamorphosis, with world events moving at the speed of light; Thinkism art's 21st century themes include: war, climate change, extinction of species, poverty, media control, the rise of the Internet, pop culture domination, genetically modified organisms, love, freedom, racism, gun
control, globalization, terrorism, fashion in society, celebrities in
society, the role of money in society, the fine
line between advertising and false advertising,
food in society, sex in society ...etc.
Since the founding of the Thinkism Art Movement in 2001, in his small world, he and other like minded artists painted about climate change, the extinction of species, poverty, war, media control, the rise of the Internet and other themes relevant to the 21st century.
In fact, back in 2001 artist David Kam produced the world's first painting about climate change, almost 7 years before Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth film, called Polar Bear Extinction, shown above in his Extinction Style ("the main subject is left blank on canvas").
Fast Forward Almost 10 years Later
The Thinkism Art Movement which started out in 2001 was not only about creating socially conscious art, but in David Kam's manifesto in 2001 he wanted also to use art to make the world a better place by creating positive social change.
After almost 10 years later, artist David Kam is making his dream a reality with the EARTHSHIP Summit, by creating positive social change.
The
creation of the Thinkism art movement is to use
art to empower individuals to think about their
own life in relationship to themselves, toward
others, and towards the world. Hopefully this
examination will help the viewer work towards
positive changes with themselves, towards others,
towards the environment, and towards society.
Energy Drink Pioneer
In the 1990s he pioneered the energy drink category with friends, after noticing people lining up to buy ginseng root in Chinatown. He and his friend worked in the kitchen and developed the recipe for the energy drink, which was named E=MC², named after Einstein's Theory of Relativity.
He negotiated a 5 year franchising-licensing agreement with Grey Beverages, the largest independent bottler in Canada (now owned by Pepsi-Cola Bottling Group) in Western Canada (population 2 million people).
The E=MC² Energy Drink outsold the Red Bull Energy Drink 5 to 1 and was the # 1 Energy Drink in the market where it was distributed. It quickly became the highest profit product after bottled water for Grey Beverages and the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Group in Western.
However, distribution was discontinued when a Vice President of the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Group declared energy drink to be a fad and subsequently replace it with FruitWorks. Pepsi never quite caught up to Red Bull after that.
The E=MC² Energy Drink was then sold only as as a limited edition item.
Internet Pioneer
David predicted the rise of the Internet in 1995, after his advertising agency saw an article describing the Internet. He quickly built his first website in 1996, for the E=MC² Energy Drink. It was the first website for drinks on the web at that time. He acquired several domain names, including DRINKS.COM and EMC2.COM, when there were less than 100,000 domain names registered worldwide. In 1996, he created the world's first Internet ordering system by linking his online website to a customized accounting software that was built by a couple of friends.
In 1996, his best friend told David to spend $20,000 to register about 10,000 generic domain names. Although David saw the rise of the Internet, due to the lack of money, he put the money into the E=MC² Energy Drink business instead. David believes that was the dumbest mistake he ever made and still regrets it till this day.
Art Pioneer
On September 12, 2001, the day after 911, David became an artist by founding the Thinkism Art Movement, thus creating the first fine art movement of the 21st century ("known as the socially conscious art movement").
Thinkism Art Movement
The
Thinkism art movement (known as the socially conscious art movement) was founded by David Kam on September 12, 2001, one day after September 11, 2001. Thinkism is the first fine art movement of the 21st century. Some famous fine art movements of the 20th century include pop art (Andy Warhol), cubism (Pablo Picasso) and abstract expression (Jackson Pollock).
The
Thinkism Art Movement was founded by David Kam to change perception
of art as mere wall decorations. Art can be a beacon of light to brighten
up your mind, to guide your soul, and much more. Art can also be a vehicle for positive social change.
Thinkism is an ideological art movement, which some
people view as “protest art”, but it is more than that. David
wants art to become a rich source of food to
enrich the mind, and to feed the soul .Thinkism
art explores man's (woman's) relationship to
the world, the world's relationship to man (woman),
and man's (woman's) relationship to each other.
You can say, that Thinkism Art Movement is mainly
about bringing a higher social consciousness
to "relationships".
Thinkism art employs elements of the six senses (sight, sound, taste, touch, smell and spirit) to inspire the viewer to think about
making positive changes in their life, and in
society.
Art
can be meaningful beyond words, beyond culture,
and language. David Kam feels there is a certain
responsibility for artists to create works of
art that shed new light on various social issues,
philosophical issues, political issues, environmental
issues, psychological issues, religious issues,
and other complex matters.
Currently, the issues being explored David Kam in Thinkism art includes: love, freedom, racism, gun control, the universe, the resilience of nature, freedom, liberty, the metamorphosis of people, computers in society, the Internet, television advertising on children, energy, dominance of multi-national corporations, globalization, money, the dot com corporations, animals facing extinction, terrorism, fashion in society, the role of money in society, the fine line between advertising and false advertising, food in society, and sex in society.
David believes that ordinary people can become a catalyst for positive social change. This was the foundation of David's idea that art itself can empower positive social change. The creation of the Thinkism art movement is to use art to empower individuals to think about their own life in relationship to themselves, toward others, and towards the world. |
